Each section (except the USA) has two Top 20 charts. The First
Chart lists the Top according to total number
of points it recieved according to its rank on its country's chart.
The Country Charts were determined by the combing all the charts for that
country into one mega list. Then the Top 10 of this chart were entered
into the chart with a number of points equal to the opposite of its position
in the chart (i.e. if it was #1 then it received 10 points). These
points were totaled together, the song which had the most points would
be higher in the ranking. In the Second chart, each of the charts
used had their top 10 songs entered into a mega list (again with points
opposite their position). The points were added and the song with
the most points won. The USA chart is slightly different. There
are three categories. Cities, which are based on the Top 10 CRH/Urban
by MTV. Radio playlists and the national charts. The National Charts
are used to determine the First Top 20 Global and the Second Top 20 Global
is determined by totaling the points of the USA national, city and radio
lists.
I want to point out that both charts are somewhat biased towards the
European Charts and against the USA. In the First Chart, Europe has a total
of 20 charts, Asia has 18 charts and the USA has only 6. In the Second
Chart Europe has a total of 38 charts represented, Asia has 32 and the
USA has only 22.
These are the Countries that are part of this chart. The Number
next to them is the number of charts from that country that made into the
Chart.
